Unfinished Cabinets

The cabinets are almost done, but not quite. I thought I would put up a few for fun.

These are the quarter sawn oak lockers in the mudroom.

This close-up of this transom is for Erica.

The built-ins are just about done.

The hallway with the transom over the half bath and the transom over the hall closet.

The master bath cabinets are also quarter sawn oak.

A little look into the laundry room.

Abram's bath cabinets are quarter sawn oak.

The girl's cabinets.

The start of a kitchen. Clearly, there are many things missing here. The quarter sawn oak island is still in the shop as are many of the panels and doors. Hopefully, the hardware and the completion of the cabinets happens soon.

Post Paint

Well, the paint is for the most part done, only touch-ups remain. The house is a magnificent mess but I believe we are on the home stretch, with only a month to go. I'm sure there will be regular updating with new photos.

It is hard to discern what this mess actually is, but it is the great room, with started built-ins around the fireplace.

This photo is for Cathy. This is looking down the bridge from the girl's rooms. The great room ceiling is off to the left, the master is straight ahead, the laundry room is to the left of the master and Abram's room is to the right.

The above are the kid's rooms. The pink is Lulu's, the purple is Norah's, and the blue is Abram's.

This is the front room. The glass hasn't been placed in any of the transoms yet.

The above 2 pictures are of the children's play area.

The pictures above are the master.
Hopefully in the next week there will be some new and exciting developments to share.

Pre-Paint

I believe the painting starts tomorrow, so I wanted to throw on a few pictures before it is all reborn.

This is the fireplace in the front room.

This is the window seat in th office.

Below is an 8ft. toy bench which I'm sure will house lots of crap in the near future.

The fireplace in the family room is below.

These are a few of the columns with the pediment above.

This is the start of the big book shelf in the basement. It doesn't have it's doors or it's shelves yet.

This is What's New

The exterior is pretty much ready to be painted as soon as the temperature warms up a bit.

The half bath's subway tile wains coating is above.

Above is our mostly finished entry way (our house is filthy with sawdust).

This is Abram's (and the new baby's) bedroom wall with the built in and bath.

This is the other wall in the bedroom.

The above is one of the girl's rooms, both of their rooms are the same, just flipped.

This is the front room, and the start of that fireplace mantel.

Columns and Floors

Our exterior columns were added today, along with some stone.

The above are all pictures of the wood flooring on the main floor. It appears darker when standing in the kitchen area. When over on the north/west side (where all the windows are) they appear lighter and the grain is more visible.

The Latest

Here is a photo update of what has been happening on Ravencrest.

The bitter cold has made the exterior slow going. Obviously, the hardy plank, shaker shingles, and the board and baton need to be painted so don't get nervous about the color variation.

The ceiling in the family room has way too many lights because the original ones were off center.

The master shower isn't quite finished but this is a preview.

Abram's shower is a light green and black.

The basement shower is white subway and noir glass.

The girls' bathroom tub surround has grape and steal blue glass.

More Tile

Can you tell that I am excited about our tile?

This is the half bath on the main floor.

This is a rec/play dough/painting area for the kids.

This is the basement bathroom floor tile.
