Not Here

I posted some pictures of the home over at my other blog.

Seriously, Almost Done

I realized that I hadn't posted any pictures of the exterior in quite a while. There are still a few things to do, like some of the window surrounds need to be replaced and the deck and balcony need to be tiled, and of course, my front door needs to be painted red. It's an awesome red from the Disney paint collection called 'Mickey's pants', need I say more?

The tile around this fireplace is a really bright cobalt blue, unfortunately, I am not an experienced enough photographer to make the color show up.

This fireplace has copper and cobalt tiles which form diamond shapes.

This is a corner china hutch that stands between the kitchen and front room.

This is an updated view of the kitchen.

I love my island. I wanted it to look as though it could be a piece of furniture we picked up at an antique store or at an estate sale. It sits up off the floor on 9" feet and is quarter sawn oak with an inset face. Believable?

I also love the harlequin above the range, it is obviously a reoccurring theme through out the house.

One of my other favorite things about the kitchen (and house) is my extra large, Shaw's farm sink. Someday I will post a picture of the expected baby bathing in this sink.

Almost There

Sorry, it's been busy around here. The kitchen is getting there. There are a # of doors missing and the panels for the dishwasher have not yet arrived, and of course the hardware has yet to be put on, but we are close.

This is the view from the kitchen.

We are still waiting for the tile for our fireplace, but the cobalt blue chandelier is in.

This is a little view of the half bath.

A very obstructed view of the laundry room.

Above is Abram's bath.

Master bath.

Our master bath is very vintage with the exception of all of Brad's shower gadgets.

I have yet to put the crystals on the girl's chandeliers, but their rooms are turning out very pretty and feminine.

I love their bathroom lights. Instead of craftsman (like the rest of the house), they are slightly Victorian which suits a girl's bath.

The basement bathroom counter.

Brad was given free reign to choose colors and such for the 2 above areas: his kitchenette and his music room. If these areas don't scream Brad, I don't know what does.

Unfinished Cabinets

The cabinets are almost done, but not quite. I thought I would put up a few for fun.

These are the quarter sawn oak lockers in the mudroom.

This close-up of this transom is for Erica.

The built-ins are just about done.

The hallway with the transom over the half bath and the transom over the hall closet.

The master bath cabinets are also quarter sawn oak.

A little look into the laundry room.

Abram's bath cabinets are quarter sawn oak.

The girl's cabinets.

The start of a kitchen. Clearly, there are many things missing here. The quarter sawn oak island is still in the shop as are many of the panels and doors. Hopefully, the hardware and the completion of the cabinets happens soon.

Post Paint

Well, the paint is for the most part done, only touch-ups remain. The house is a magnificent mess but I believe we are on the home stretch, with only a month to go. I'm sure there will be regular updating with new photos.

It is hard to discern what this mess actually is, but it is the great room, with started built-ins around the fireplace.

This photo is for Cathy. This is looking down the bridge from the girl's rooms. The great room ceiling is off to the left, the master is straight ahead, the laundry room is to the left of the master and Abram's room is to the right.

The above are the kid's rooms. The pink is Lulu's, the purple is Norah's, and the blue is Abram's.

This is the front room. The glass hasn't been placed in any of the transoms yet.

The above 2 pictures are of the children's play area.

The pictures above are the master.
Hopefully in the next week there will be some new and exciting developments to share.
